Terms of Service

Plain English, no surprises

What this app does

ParentPA is a personal assistant for new parents. It provides a timeline of tasks, appointments, and deadlines relevant to pregnancy and the first year of parenthood in the United Kingdom. Content covers England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Not medical advice

ParentPA is an organisational tool, not a medical service. The app provides general information sourced from NHS, GOV.UK, and devolved government websites. It does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult your midwife, GP, or health visitor for medical decisions.

Your account

You need an account to use the app. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.

Partner sharing

You can invite a partner to share your timeline. Both users can see and interact with the same tasks, appointments, and notes. You can unlink a partner at any time. When you disconnect a partner, their access to your shared timeline is immediately revoked.

Payment

ParentPA is available as a free download or a one-off purchase through the Apple App Store. The price, if applicable, is displayed before you buy. Payment is processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled through Apple's standard refund process.

Content accuracy

We make every effort to keep information accurate and up to date. Government policies and NHS processes change, and there may be a delay before the app reflects those changes. If you spot something that looks wrong, please let us know at hello@parentpa.uk.

Government and NHS information

ParentPA is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government entity, the NHS, or any public body. Card content is sourced from official UK government and health service websites: nhs.uk, nhsinform.scot, gov.uk, gov.wales, gov.scot, nidirect.gov.uk, nrscotland.gov.uk, 111.wales.nhs.uk, and publichealth.hscni.net. Additional sources include The Lullaby Trust (lullabytrust.org.uk), MoneyHelper (moneyhelper.org.uk), Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk), NCT (nct.org.uk), and Childcare.co.uk. Source links are provided within each card in the app.

What you can't do

Availability

We aim to keep the app running reliably, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. We may need to take the service down for maintenance. We'll try to give notice where possible.

Liability

ParentPA is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app. This includes, but is not limited to, missed appointments, incorrect information, or service interruptions.

Privacy

How we handle your data is covered in our privacy policy. The short version: we collect only what the app needs, we don't sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
